Globalisation and its Impact on International Business Management
In the wake of calls for globalisation, Professor K C Chan and Dr Christopher Goh have looked at the many issues and implications. Eight issues are discussed in the International Business Management (IBM) Colloquium. These are:
To quote the Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong, Globalisation will force nations to re-allocate resources, restructure their economies and re-orient their societies for the future. Indeed, globalisation has resulted in the global shift of jobs, wealth, knowledge, political power and economic conditions. From the business perspective, globalisation has resulted in the shift towards a more integrated and interdependent world economy through two key drivers, namely the globalisation of markets and the globalisation of production. Globalisation is working towards raising living standards in a holistic free world economy, with growing concern for humanity.
