Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine what reward items are valued by blue-collared workers working in Malaysia, including local and foreign workers. The main conclusions are that, although other studies have shown that extrinsic rewards, particularly salary, were most important in attracting these workers, further studies will be required to determine whether the same is true in motivating this group of workers to work more efficiently or to stay longer, beyond what is necessary to fulfil their initial basic needs.
