Non-Profit Success: A Case Study
Volume 20, Issue 3, SEPTEMBER 2025
Heather Bailey
Introduction
Sometimes it seems like profit is the only criterion for success in an organisation. High pay, high dividends = high prestige. Some organisations reject this model and don’t seek profit at all. They have some other mission, such as reducing suffering of a particular type, from disease, poverty, lack of education, dirty water, etc. Others exist not so much as to decrease bad things as to increase good things, such as providing adventure playgrounds for local children. Profit doesn’t have to come into this.
