Abstract

This article examines value creation from a strategic marketing perspective relevant to the bedroom, kitchen, living room and bathroom of a potential smart home of 2050, envisioning what these rooms might look like incorporating concepts such as the Internet of Things, artificial Intelligence (AI) and virtual reality (VR). This research analyses the possible value creation that may take place in the future. It focuses on describing major elements of these key rooms inside a predicted model smart home of 2050, the specific value that can be created, and how these might be strategically implemented. These key considerations will equip marketers with the approach necessary to think about smart homes of the future using examples.
