Abstract
This study explores the impact of leadership styles on intrinsic job satisfaction for Generation Z employees in the Malaysian Luxury and Fashion Industry (MLFI). It is based on the Path-Goal Leadership Model (PGT) which cites four leadership behaviours – directive, supportive, participative and achievement oriented. There were two specialisation cohorts; Fashion Design and Pattern Making (FDPM) and Fashion Business and Marketing (FBM). These groups combined showed a significant impact for all four path-goal leader behaviours. The results showed that FDPM Gen Z employees were intrinsically satisfied with directive and participative leadership styles whereas Gen Z employees in FBM were intrinsically satisfied with supportive leadership.
