Abstract
This thesis primarily aims to improve Ramlak Malaysia’s performance in service maintenance to customers, with important implications within the service maintenance industry, which strives to maintain operational performance while meeting contractual obligations. This research attempts to identify the factors behind unsatisfactory performance and seek solutions amongst the employees of Ramlak. The hypotheses are that these factors are leadership, corporate culture, motivation, competency and education. To test these theories, the project employed quantitative research design, i.e. a questionnaire to employees and SmartPLS3.2.8 for data analysis. The findings identify leadership style and corporate culture as factors behind the poor performance of Ramlak Malaysia among the white-collar workers, but no factors are identified among blue-collar workers. This research recommends further research into different leadership styles and corporate culture that improves organisational performances within the port and logistics industry. New research could be conducted to identify factors to improve performance within the blue-collar workers.
