1. Executive Summary
Entrepreneurship is defined as the process of transforming innovations, ideas and inventions into successful new enterprises. The term was derived from the French word, 'entreprendre' which means to undertake.
Entrepreneurship is an important driver of economic growth and innovation. This subject was initially taught in universities in 1950s onwards by professors as the actual business owners rarely have the time to do so. From the 1990s, intrapreneurship became the trend where entrepreneurs were nurtured within the company. From the 2000s, we observed the rise in technopreneurship when tech companies such as Amazon, Google and Facebook used technology in the digital age to grow rapidly. From 2020 on, the future of entrepreneurship will be multipreneurship1. This involves multi-tasking, where entrepreneurs partake in one or more endeavours concurrently, while still working on their full time commitment.
