Abstract
The purpose of this research paper is to determine the challenges experienced by women entrepreneurs in the apparel industry in Harare. Women entrepreneurship is still very much a touted topic of research with various researchers competing to contribute to the growing body of knowledge. Society continues to perceive women as being too weak to conduct any business and sometimes seeks to confine them to housekeeping activities and reliance on men. Regardless of this, women in Zimbabwe have managed to break the barrier and start up various businesses including the retail industry. However, they face numerous challenges; their businesses have remained smaller to their counterparts run by men. This research paper is significant because it attempts to identify the challenges of entrepreneurship by enabling the women entrepreneurs to be heard. It will be useful to policy makers, governments, organisations and future researchers
