Abstract
The metaverse represents a burgeoning industry with substantial interest across various categories, including definitions, business benefits, cybersecurity, marketing, and corporate involvement. Despite its potential, significant debates persist around privacy, security, control, societal impact, and the feasibility of metaverse creation and ownership. Through the lens of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), the aim is to identify specific technological features of the metaverse that can be translated into perceived value propositions. These could guide the development of strategic frameworks to support sustainable industry growth, addressing technical, social, cultural, economic, legal, and ethical considerations to ensure responsible adoption and use of the metaverse technologies
